Battle for Change

Documentary · Kathmandu · 2024

Franny is a Swiss creator who wanted her reach to count for something. Battle for Change is the documentary we made with her in Kathmandu: the story of a school for street children, and the dance room she set out to help rebuild.

One journey, one story, one film.

Franny wanted her reach to matter

Franny had built a real audience and wanted it to count for something. She led the project and brought us in to put it on film.

I've built an audience. I want it to actually count for something.
There's a school for street kids in Kathmandu. They need their dance room rebuilt.
Let's make a documentary. We'll come and film it.

Back home, we cut the film

A week or two at the edit. Ten days of footage shaped into one film, then refined with Franny until it was right.

We posted the film

We published the documentary to Franny's audience. The reach she had built finally had a job to do.

What this one shows we can do

  • Cause-driven documentary storytelling, start to finish.
  • On-location production in an unfamiliar environment.
  • A finished film that turned an audience into real support.
